End of Summer Bucket List

School has started and once again, the cooler weather is just around the corner. It feels like Summer went too fast, but not to worry, here are a few of our favorite ideas to soak up every last bit of this Summer weather. Let us know in the comments which Summer day activities are your favorite!

Grab a bite

Grand Rapids is the perfect oasis for finding an excuse to try a new bite to eat. Luckily, there’s plenty of options to grab a bite and enjoy the Summer breeze. One of our favorites is Food Truck Friday’s at Riverside Park! Stop by for a quick bite and walk along the river for a stunning view to fill your Friday night plans.

Attend a local farmers market! Fulton Street Farmer’s Market is a must-see. Don’t miss their expanded days and hours for the Summer season. We highly recommend Summer Nights at the Market with live music and even more food trucks!

Or, just eat outdoors! Grand Rapids offers over 130 restaurants with outdoor seating. Yes, you read that right. Plan a date night and spend the night under the stars.

Get active

Take advantage of this beautiful weather and switch up your workout routine. We love participating in activities that don’t even feel like exercise. Bring your yoga mat outside and take advantage of the fresh air, or join in on a class!

Take the bikes out of the garage! Grand Rapids is great for biking both in the city and plenty of biking trails. You can even make the trip a little more fun by trying out the Ice Cream Tour! This path will take you around the city to try the best ice cream joints, check it out here!

Or, take a step outside the box and rent a couple of kayaks. You can even save this one for when it gets a little closer to the fall too for a scenic view with the beautiful fall colors!

Start an adventure

If you’re looking to get creative, challenge yourself and your family to a treetop adventure. Tree Runner Adventure Park offers obstacle courses and ziplines to keep you on your toes. Bring the whole family, there are course options for all those 4 and up!

See an outdoor movie! Muskegon’s Getty Drive-in offers a double feature of every genre. Or, see one for free at Movies on Monroe!

Still haven’t found what you’re looking for? Check out the opportunities to take a tour in Grand Rapids. There’s something for every interest from tours of the city, to brewery tours and even ghost tours!

Kids night out

Take a day to visit the zoo! John Ball Zoo is the perfect hot spot for everything animal fun! John Ball even has wonderful event opportunities like Princess Day and Wizarding Weekends. Don’t miss them! There’s something for every interest!

Get out all your energy with a day of activities at Craig’s Cruisers with their new Zipline Adventure Park! They also offer go-karts, bumper cars/boats, trampoline park and more! Or stop by Aj’s Family Fun Center for go-karts/boats, batting cages and the arcade!

Practice your putting with a day of mini-golf. Grand Rapids Kids put together a great list of the mini-golf courses in West Michigan. Take a day trip to one or try them all!
